Who we are
Fram Professionals is a specialist recruitment firm working with growth-stage, founder-led, VC-backed, AIM-listed, and PISCES businesses across the UK. We recruit the senior and leadership professionals that ambitious businesses need at the moments that matter most - ahead of a raise, through a leadership transition, or at the point where the team needs to be strengthened to take the business further.
We are the sister company of Fram Search, a specialist financial services executive search firm with over sixteen years of market experience. That relationship gives us access to networks, candidate relationships, and market intelligence - particularly across financial services, fintech, and the investment community - that most firms at our scale cannot match.
We are based in Bedfordshire and work with clients across the UK.

A financial services background that matters
Fram Professionals and Fram Search are sister companies, both trading names of Fram Executive Search Limited. Fram Search is a specialist financial services executive search firm with over sixteen years of experience placing senior talent at venture capital firms, wealth managers, asset managers, and growth-stage financial services businesses across the UK.
The two businesses serve different markets but share the same operating principles, the same commitment to retained and exclusive search, and the same network. For clients in financial services or backed by financial services investors, the combination of both brands represents a level of market access that no single generalist firm can replicate.
How we work
We work on both a retained and exclusive contingent basis depending on the role, the business, and the urgency. For senior and strategic hires, a retained search gives you dedicated resource, a properly managed process, and the discretion that a significant appointment requires. For mid-level and volume hiring, our exclusive contingent model delivers the same quality of candidate access with greater flexibility.
What does not change between the two is our approach: thorough, honest, and focused on long-term fit rather than the fastest close. We are a small firm and our reputation depends on getting it right.
What was Fram?
Fram Search - and by extension Fram Professionals - is named after Fram, the strongest wooden ship ever built. Fram was used by the revered Norwegian explorers Fridtjof Nansen and Roald Amundsen for their polar expeditions, and was groundbreaking in its day.
Just as with our name-sake, we believe pioneering thought, attention to detail, and a robust but flexible culture are qualities to aspire to. We pride ourselves on being specialists, and in that too we take after our namesake.
Fram’s history is quite fascinating, and starts with the conundrum of how to force a ship through the brutal Arctic ice. The plans for Fram were innovative in both design and proportions, and owe much to polar explorer Fridtjof Nansen’s bold theories.
She would be used on three important expeditions: with Fridtjof Nansen on a drift over the Arctic Ocean 1893-96, with Otto Sverdrup to the arctic archipelago west of Greenland – now the Nunavut region of Canada – 1898-1902, and with Roald Amundsen to Antarctica for his South Pole expedition 1910-12. Today, she occupies a unique position in the history of exploration.
